Young Historians ~ Voices of Mt. Pleasant

October 11, 2014 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Saturday, October 11 ~ 2:00 pm
BUSINESS MEETING
PROGRAM  Young Historians ~ Voices of Mount Pleasant
LOCATION  Christ Old Swedes Church Hall

Mt. Pleasant is the little community within a community. It straddles both Upper Merion Township and Wayne. As older residents die, their homes are being bought by developers who are renting the houses to students, including many Cabrini students. The voices of the original residents are being lost. Cabrini students have been gathering oral histories from these residents for four years. This presentation is representative of the voices collected.  They tell stories of community, of race, of family, of Wayne. Their history is part of our history.  These young historians are trying to preserve a small portion of it.
