June Program: Annual Field Trip – Christ Church (Old Swedes)
Please join the King of Prussia Historical Society’s 2017 Field Trip, a tour of the inside of Christ Church (Old Swedes) and the surrounding graveyard on Saturday, June 10, starting at approximately 2:00 pm.
The congregation of Christ Church Old Swedes dates to the late 1600s, even before the official founding of the township The current church building was erected in 1760, replacing a log cabin that was used for worship close to the existing site. The stained glass windows added in a renovation of the church in the 1940s tell the story of the history of the New Sweden Colony and the major events in the life of Christ.
The Historical Society will hold its Annual Meeting beginning at 1:00 pm. The meeting was originally planned for this past January but re-scheduled due to inclement weather. Following our business meeting, we will serve light refreshments before beginning the tour of the church at approximately 2:00 pm. The society’s annual business meeting is open to the public, but attendance is optional for non-members who wish to join us for the tour of the historic church and refreshments.

This is the second year Michael participated in this high school initiative.
