Old Swedes Church (Christ Church) was dedicated June 24, 1760 in Swedesburg, replacing a simple log cabin dating to 1735. The Swedish settlers built the church on land purchased from the estate of Gunnar Rambo for eleven pounds sterling. The Roberts family has several connections to Upper Merion, in addition to a school and family cemetery. Buttonwood, the former home of Jonathan Roberts, US Senator from 1815-21, was build on family land that dates back to the 1600s. Part of the farmland was sold in 1915 to Valley Forge Memorial Gardens. The restored and beautifully maintained home, Buttonwood, is
